A special Saturday morning of reflection from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 23 at
Incarnate Word Parish in Chesterfield will feature Fr. Joe Tetlow, SJ, a renowned scholar, writer
and teacher on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola.
Registration is full.
Titled “AMDG and Doing the Next Good Thing,” the morning will open with optional Mass at 8:30am then move to Watson Room for two presentations, time for sharing and reflection. “AMDG” is the “short-hand” version of the Latin motto of the Society of Jesus, Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, meaning “For the Greater Glory of God.”

Joseph Tetlow, S.J. is considered one of the world’s leading experts on Ignatian spirituality and a world-renowned spiritual director. He served in Rome for 8 years as Secretariat for Ignatian
Spirituality on the Jesuit General’s staff. He had earlier been dean of Loyola University in New
Orleans and President of the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley. He was associate editor of
the Jesuit weekly magazine, America.
His books include Ignatius Loyola: Spiritual Exercises and Making Choices in Christ, a
compendium of the foundational theology of Christian decision-making. His guide for making
St. Ignatius’s Spiritual Exercises, Choosing Christ in the World, has been translated into a
number of languages.
